We Don’t Just Believe in Disclosure and Fighting Dark Money—We Practice It

Here’s where you can find all of our disclosure reports – listing every penny we get, every in-kind donation we receive, every penny we spend, and every penny we owe. We update this page with reports as we file them with APOC. In the meantime, you can check out all public disclosure reports at the Alaska Public Offices Commission.

“Dark money” refers to spending meant to influence political outcomes where the true source of the funding is hidden from voters by passing the money through politically active nonprofit organizations or Super PACs.

Most organizations like this are not obligated to tell you, the voter, where they get their money. But we believe in transparency. Some of our top contributors are Unite America, Action Now Initiative, and Unite and Renew Fund. The individuals behind these organizations are Laura and John Arnold and investors in the Unite America Fund — including Katherine Gehl, Marc Merrill, and Kathryn Murdoch — philanthropists dedicated to addressing the most pressing problems facing the country.

While we have received grants from outside organizations, Alaskans For Better Elections was created by and for Alaskans. We’re from here, we live and work here, as are the 41,000 Alaskans who signed the petition to put these reforms on the ballot in November.
